Became one of the most prominent companies in the AI ecosystem in just two years
Prof. Dr. Ayşe Kıvılcım Coşkun, a graduate of Sabancı University's Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences, a faculty member at Boston University, and the Chief Scientist of Emerald AI, has achieved international success, once again highlighting the international impact of Sabancı University graduates in the fields of science and technology. Emerald AI, where Prof. Dr. Ayşe Kıvılcım Coşkun is the Chief Scientist, was included in TIME magazine's "2026 TIME100 Most Influential Companies" list alongside global technology leaders. Developing innovative solutions for the energy efficiency of artificial intelligence systems, Emerald AI has become one of the most prominent technology companies in the global AI ecosystem in just two years. Supported by AI giant Nvidia, Emerald AI's Emerald AI Conductor platform optimizes the energy consumption of data centers according to the instantaneous needs of the electricity grid, thus both preserving the performance of AI systems and ensuring more efficient use of energy infrastructure. In this way, it offers an innovative solution to energy management, one of the most critical problems of the rapidly growing AI ecosystem.

Award-Winning Research
Prof. Dr. Ayşe Kıvılcım Coşkun, a 2003 graduate of Sabancı University, is a professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Boston University. She also serves as the Associate Dean of the Faculty of Engineering. As the Director of the Center for Information and Systems Engineering at Boston University, Prof. Dr. Coşkun has pioneered groundbreaking work in flexible artificial intelligence and high-performance computing to enhance the energy grid. After graduating from Sabancı University, she worked at Sun Microsystems (Oracle) and completed her PhD in Computer Science and Engineering at the University of California, San Diego. Prof. Dr. Coşkun has received numerous awards, including the Ernest Kuh Award for energy-efficient system design and the IBM Faculty Award for AI-based methods. Prof. Dr. Coşkun is also a member of Sabancı University's Distinguished Research Fellowship program.
